I have no idea how to make a Kumihimo pattern bracelet. Nor do I have this wheel/disc thing they say is needed for it.
Attempting to read the tuturial on making said patterns made my brain imploded (at least tonight -August 31st '11 -it did).
ANYWAYS... I maded a pattern xD lols

is pattern K186 on the site ;P

That is correct :) acctually, they are normally done with more strings but some embroidery thread packages come with the discs and intructions.

It's really easy to understand, really. Say you had 8 strings. You'd tie them together, then put the knot through the hole in the disk to where it's in the back. Pull the colours through, so as here you'd have 2 blue strings at the top of the disk. Pull those 2 through and put them through notches 1 and 2. Then pull through 2 red strings and notch them into notches directly across from your first 2. Continue doing this (putting strings into notches according to the pattern on the left) until you're finished. Then turn your disk back up to notches 1 and 2. You'd start with those strings. Take string 2, pull it down, and set it in the empty notch next to the group directly across the wheel from your blue strings (in this pattern's case, it would be the red strings). Then take your left red string, and pull it up. Notch it next to string 1. Turn your wheel to the left, and continue doing this to all groups of strings, and you'd begin to see the bracelet form through the bottom of the hole. Just remember, right down, left up.

I've been thinking of making a video to try to explain it a little easier.

oh God... my brain just exploded @_<
there's a tutorial on that site with a video of how to make the bracelets, actually. I watched it last night after posting this, and I understand it now.

Yeah it's a bit hard to understand at first. Like alpha patterns still have me going "wtf" because I just started making bracelets like... a week or so ago. I'm understanding it and not all at the same time xD

the only thing that I don't understand on the alphas are how to bring in other colours and stuffs. But for the simpler ones, I like them better than the normal patterns xD
